MS Access: input data from several PC at once!

June 8th, 2010 by admin

Writing is like swimming. You can always enjoy writing without anyone besides you, but you’ll never enjoy entering a bunch of data to a computer alone.

I just want to share, that entering data to MS access can be done by 2 person or more at once. And surely, it will make the process of entering data more enjoyable; at least you’ll have someone to talk with when you get bored.

The process of entering data simultaneously from 2 computers or more can be done by using DATABASE SPLITTER. It means you split the ms access file into 2 parts: FRONT-END and BACK-END. The front-end contains the FORM where you can enter the data or record. And the back-end contains the table which holds the real data or record.

I just have done this today, and it was really cool. It will make you seems more sophisticated and more powerful when somebody knows that you can do this. Common people will think that you do your work ONLINE, but actually all we need to do this is just a local network (LAN). Wi-Fi will also works fine. In my next post I will post my experience using database splitter.
